After my research, this is where the media industry is at in Australia.
My daughter Isla was treated in such a grotesque and demeaning way by all involved, including the media. Sensationalising, victim blaming, every single detail. Images chosen and used without consent… I still feel sick thinking of my poor parents reading the headlines about their first granddaughter Isla. There is no accountability or recourse for the deeply traumatising damage, which can’t be undone.
Just another shit sandwich to swallow.
There are solutions to gendered violence. I spoke with my local federal member Zoe McKenzie who supported my desire and communities need for more protections and will write to @mrowlandmp to keep this issue on the table. – Justine
